Sewing Project: Sew a Small Furry Fur Zip Wallet / Pouch

Here is another project which I done recently. I did a little small zip wallet/pouch. I use it as wallet and I quite like it. Especially the soft fabric, and nice to touch. Like those furry type of pouch. I did the same thing as the pencil case too.

Just align one long rectangular fabric and sew the sides and then the zipper. I use those normal type of zipper with just a normal type of zip head. There are quite a few types, some with rough zip line inside, those are use for bigger or bulky projects. I don’t have any special skills to choose which type of zip to use, but I choose according to what type of project I do. I did a small simple pouch so I just get a normal zip which matching colours that’s all.

This fabric I use is quite thick when you fold to 2 but my machine manage to make it for sewing them together. You just have to make sure your machine can handle most of the type of fabrics. Like mine machine, it can’t sew thicker fabrics like quilt fabric. So I will just stick to normal type of fabric which my machine can handle.

Sewing the zipper is really quite challenging. Especially when you don’t know which side to side to first and I get very annoyed when I don’t really know how to sew the zip and I went to watch some videos on how to sew it. Just have to do more practice. This small project really suits beginner who are still learning. Do as many practice as you can, Feel free to share with me, I will be glad to see your project too!

Sooner I will do some tutorial videos on my projects once I’m ready to show my work. >w< Hope this short post helps you! Do stay tune for more projects coming up!

Happy Sewing!
